Kevin De Bruyne's form an embarrassment for Jose Mourinho and Chelsea

Nah. United rotated gang. We played park and fabio in midfield ahead of Pogba. There were more than enough occasions when we rotated but Ferguson didn't think he was ready.

And I still agree with that assessment. I always thought Pogba would struggle to make the step up. He was amazing at the youth level but it was quite obvious that he was over relying on his physical attributes and he needed to learn to balance that. He would often hold onto the ball for too long inviting pressure onto himself. Somebody showed me that his passing stats were actually pretty good in the 4 or 5 games he played but when you go and watch his touches - he'd often play his partner into trouble. Like I remember one specific instance, Pogba received the ball from Scholes (iirc), turned, got his head up, waited for someone to make a run despite there actually being safe options, saw his passing lanes blocked, held the ball for a second longer allowing the opposing team to close in and then passed the ball to Scholes who had to squeeze the ball out. If it hadn't been Scholes it would've been a lost ball. And maybe that's what Scholes means now when he says that Pogba needs a playmaker next to him, because it would actually benefit him if he could invite pressure onto the team instead of trying to play too quickly.
