Kurds to vote on independence despite warnings from neighbours.

So every part of Iraq that got conquered would be a part that the central government did not care to protect. So they can become countries as well? Apparently when there is turmoil, it might reshape the whole country.

They could. Iraq right now is very reminiscent of former Yugoslavia. Even down to the sectarian violence and ethnic cleansing, it is very similar. You have sectarian groups each in control of large swaths of territory. This kind of setup is unstable, especially if none of them have loyalty to the central government that failed to protect them, or even abused them.

So if there is a problem in the potential new Kurdistan and someone decides to help they might help it become into another two smaller countries as well.

Iraqi Kurdish territories are very united within themselves. The culture and loyalty to the KRG throughout the Iraqi Kurdistan region is homologous and has been for decades, even under Sadam. That possibility is not realistic.

It makes things very unpredictable.

Going back to the historical example of Yugoslavia, letting the country fission actually led to the most stable solution in the Balkans. That could be what eventually happens to Iraq.

But what do I know? I'm just some guy on the internet.
