Lawyers who put together wills, what is the craziest/oddest thing someone wanted to put in theirs?

Marital assets might be more valuable in the future than at the time of divorce.

Say you own land in a booming housing market and you file for divorce. Either spouse could demand liquidation of marital assets, but it might be a better use of marital property to split the legal title 50/50 but let one spouse continue to live in the house (while paying a fair share to the spouse being kicked out.) The couple could then agree that at a certain point in the future, (either property values rise or indefinitely) when its time to sell the house/turn it into a rental property, the ex-wife has 50% legal title and thus gets 50% of the money.

So even if you died in the house and tried to give it to your kids, the legal title is tied down to the ex-wife.

You also see this with rich people and stock-options. If the husband earned the right to valuable stock option during the marriage, the wife could be able to claw back for payouts on those options. The courts usually seek finality in divorce procceedings, but a more cordial seperation agreement can make these types of property disputes/solutions more beneficial for both parties.
