Lean FIRE while partner still works?

There's kinda six quite different scenarios:

  1. You can afford to both leanFIRE, but one person chooses to continue working because they enjoy it.
  2. You can afford to both leanFIRE, but one person chooses to continue working because they want to buy certain things the other person doesn't need or care about.
  3. You can afford to both leanFIRE, but one person chooses to continue working because they are not comfortable with the lean (i.e. they would prefer regular FIRE, or maybe not to RE at all).
  4. One person has enough to leanFIRE, and the other does not and has to continue working.
  5. You can't afford to both leanFIRE seperately, but with the reduced costs of being in a relationship one person can and the other can't.
  6. Neither can afford to leanFIRE independently, but one can if supported by the other in various ways, i.e. living in someone's house without paying rent (not true FI of course, but sorta relevant as it is common)

does it eat away at the relationship?

...do yeah, like others said it will vary depending on the situation and the relationship!

Imho I've kinda ranked the above in order of stability :)
