Leavers....What will you do if 5 years hence Brexit DOES prove to be a disaster ?

If Le Pen gets elected in France, I will most certainly NOT admit that Leavers were right to leave, because IMO Brexit has INCREASED the chances of Le Pen getting elected.

Whilst I applaud and agree with your moral stance on Le Pen, Orban et-al, I would be extremely surprised if such considerations played any great part in most Leaver's deliberations. My vote to remain was intended as a rejection of right-wing nationalism, not an endorsement of it.

As a socialist I too abhor what has happened to Greece, and the part the EU has played in bringing the situation about. I never said the EU was perfect, yet, on balance I feel that the EU is a force which moderates and constrains both capitalism and nationalism rather than supporting and enabling them.

If you are concerned about the dangers of unbridled capitalism and nationalism I am sure you will share my apprehension at what this country will look like a few years down the line if the Tories get in again, with the UK begging for trade deals with the USA and with Austerity redoubled again.

Finally, my comments on chavs were intended to be humorous. Perhaps they were not in very good taste.

Good evening to you.
