I probably should have explained better in my post.

I was headed down a dark, dark path in life, and if I didn’t punch that cop I probably would have been charged with something much more serious and life-ruining down the line. If it had happened three months later, I would have been charged as an adult, unable to attend college, and probably dead or serving a sentence right now.

Currently, I’m 14 years removed from the incident with a solid degree and a position paying well over six figures. The one single instance that I can point to that changed my trajectory in life was punching that cop, so that’s what I mean by it working out for me. I’ve still got my vices, I’m clearly still not the greatest person going off my post history but that punch absolutely saved my life.
