Looking to get a car, have some concerns

I know how you feel about this. I've been denied loans from my banks that I want to give my businesses to. I'd suggest try to do financing through the dealership as they have more clout and more options to try various banks and credit unions. The last vehicle I bought (April of '16), I had a 580-600ish credit score and been denied by many banks. I finally relented and went through the dealership. Funny thing is I got approved on my own through the same bank I had financed my vehicle before. Why I didn't think about that, I don't know, but this company (Ally) has been really good to me as well. I'd suggest you make up your mind how much you are willing to pay per month and stick to it. If the dealership can't match it (don't let them sway you $5 dollars or more), then go onto the next one. Find good insurance, I pay $98/month for full coverage, but I have slightly lower BI/PD and a slightly higher deductible. Only reason I do that is because I consider myself a very safe driver and yet to be in a car accident that was my fault. If you consider yourself that, that may be another option for you as well. Also, picking up a side job (i.e. Uber/Lyft) may come in handy as well. Good luck!
