'Why don't you either contain your chickens better'

We have a solid coop for our hens and are working on building a second one for our roosters. We ended up with two roosters that no one wanted, one of whom was abandoned on the side of the highway. When we picked him up, he was skin and bones. He was also covered in bugs. Because we didn't intend to have roosters and have found them to be too aggressive with our hens, we're doing the best we can with temporary housing while we build them a permanent home.

'call the fish and game department'

We've contacted F&G before with inquiries about other animals like bobcats and snapping turtles. Based on those conversations, we know that F&G won't get involved.

'find a way where you can move the animal to another area instead of killing it'

Everything we've read online says that this isn't appropriate. If you try to relocate a raccoon, it becomes someone else's problem. In addition, there's a very real chance that you're introducing an animal with disease into a population that doesn't have the same health problems.

We've worked through a lot of the options available to us but are at a loss for where to go here. Even though this raccoon hasn't been able to get our chickens yet (despite trying to do so for weeks), it's remained undeterred and continues to come back each night.

I'm open to other suggestions if you have any besides referring to me as an 'asshole'! If we could live with this raccoon, we would.
