Where do you stand on irrigating lawns considering the availability of fresh water today and in the future?

You could use a weed whacker at a certain height above the clover. Or you could use a sickle. The sickle helps me keep the grass in check while protecting more desireable vegetation on our lawn. I don't have much clover, but I have a whole lot of other stuff that flowers at different parts of the growing season.

The first time I cut the lawn, usually in June, I have to do the whole thing with the sickle to protect all the wildflowers. Fortunately, it's not a big lawn. Then in July, I have to cut again, but there's more room for the weed whacker and manual push mower to be incorprated. Then I don't really have to cut grass again until before winter, but I do have to clean up spent wildflowers in the meantime.
