Louis C.K.'s career is potentially over after jerking off in front of a few women while Chris Brown's is thriving after viciously beating one to a pulp.

it would hurt them because they made themselves to appear to be upstanding, moral citizens.

C.K. had entire 15-minute bits about how much of a sexual degenerate he is.

I feel like the people outraged over this are more fans of celebrities and pop culture in general rather than fans of standup comedy. Otherwise this wouldn't be surprising to them at all.

I like his material. When this news came out, I didn't doubt it for a second. But to be completely honest, I didn't feel all that betrayed as a fan because there's a lot of room between taking your dick out in front of someone after asking politely and drugging/raping someone a la Cosby. And to me, the former is almost an acceptable level of creepish perversion from a standup comedian. That opinion might make me a monster, but I'd bet more of C.K's audience/friends than not share that opinion, or at least find enough joy in his work to give him a pass so that they can continue to do so.
