Why Do You Love This Scene So Much?

I didn't go to my first rave until last year when I was 22, always been introverted and had social anxiety. If you asked me about my opinion on raves prior to that I would have said they're my personal hell. But last year I started getting really into electronic music so I decided to go check out Porter Robinson since he was playing a DJ set nearby. I fell in love...the music, the lights, the people. I was alone but I felt welcomed and not judged. Everyone was friendly and happy and it was just really positive energy, something I was missing from my life at the time. Since then I've been to shows sober, drunk, and rolling balls. Rolling has taught me to just not give a fuck when I'm sober, and has made me a, maybe not a better dancer, but I understand now how to just let the music move me. I also have a much bigger appreciate for DJ's. Everyone says they just press play, which may be true for some, but it really is a talent being able to take someone seamlessly on a musical journey of highs and lows. I also love how people look out for each other, I do my best to do the same and help people who seem to have taken too much of whatever or need water or something. Just a really cool community, where I can just forget about the BS of life and dance.
