Maiden voyage '95 Astro

Hey. I'll go ahead and jump in here, even though I haven't begun my own journey yet. :) There are a few things that should be considered first. Where are you planning on parking at night or spending your days? Will you be traveling? Will you be going outside of your current community or staying in town? Do you like to eat out, or do you prefer preparing your own meals? What kind of arrangement will you need for showering or using the facilities? Is it very hot where you will be? Things to consider first will be how will you meet all your basic needs. Does your Astro have a solid floor? You could just put down a foam mat and some bedding. If the floor is bare, you may want to consider a camping cot to have an even surface. Can you safely leave your windows partially opened to allow for ventilation? If you will not be eating out for most meals, what types of meals do you like to prepare? Can you go with mostly fresh food that can be purchased at the time you want to consume it? Will you need a cooler or something to heat/cook your food? A local gym or YMCA would be good for showering. If you are traveling, Anytime Fitness has many locations over the US. You could also take care of that in the van with bottled water and a wash basin for the most part. There are options to consider for using the bathroom in the van. If in town, this could be only for emergencies. Will you be spending a lot of time in the van, or only to sleep? What do you need to bring for entertainment? If using electronics, where will you charge them? Do you have windows in the back part of the van? Will you need coverings for the windows to hide the fact you are sleeping there? Depending on where you plan to spend your time will make a big difference in what you need to have in the van. A great place to begin your search for information may be at cheaprvliving.com. Many scenarios are covered here. If you are a visual learner, there are also many YouTube videos that will be helpful. If you are unable to find the information you need after deciding what your travel plans are, perhaps post a question here about a specific issue to get more responses. Good luck!
