I understand this perspective, but sometimes a "nice guy" does want the best for his female friend. You will hear them complain that people are "shallow" and only want to fuck me because of my looks.

Chances are if your male friend wants to fuck you, its because he likes you for who you are. Over the course of hanging out and opening up/being vulnerable you've formed a deeper emotional connection. Which a lot of dudes figure make a good relationship and (as I've heard from countless women) better sex.

I always found it weird why Friendship cannot transition to relationship. Do things really change that much when people start fucking?
