This men vs women shit is getting old. We both struggle, we both have problems, move on.

I would agree with you decades ago, but you can’t tell me that there isn’t a good chunk of people identifying as feminist who are really just misandrist. Feminism to me has become a buzzword people use to say “I support women” leaving “and women only” unspoken. How is that helping men and children? Sure you could say that those people aren’t true feminists and that feminism is still a valid movement, but I would ask you what that movement really is at that point if it’s own followers are strangers to its ideals. Furthermore I would argue that feminism as is it now is not welcoming to men and the word itself alienates men from it. There’s simply too much baggage with it now. The original idea of feminism is still something we need and I would say that we just start calling people who believe in equal rights egalitarianists. It’s a simple word that encompasses the ideal of equal rights, and it can’t be misconstrued (at least I hope so) as the term feminism seems to have been.
