I remember visiting one of my wife’s friends in Germany, and she was having an argument with her husband in German about her husband’s friend who was acting weird that night in German. She breaks away from the conversation and says “Paul, you don’t think men have as many emotions as women do, do you?”

To which I said, “Yes, of course! Why wouldn’t they?”

Apparently the husband was talking about how his friend was going through some emotional stuff but as a man he was never taught how to express his emotions in a healthy manner. It was weird, because my wife’s friend was very liberal on a lot of matters but took it as a fact, and not societal conditioning, that men were simple emotionally speaking
