Hits close to home man, my dad left when I was 11 we moved into my aunt's house a two bedroom town home. It was my mom, my sister and I. My mom was an immigrant who never had a job (dad was the bread winner, mom was just a homemaker). We slept in one bedroom all together while my aunt slept upstairs. Took my mom 5 months to find a job because of just pure discrimination cause of her accent sometimes I would have to accompany her to interviews and doctors appointments to translate. Those 6 months were tough man, without the free lunch program I wouldn't have been able to eat all day. Unless my aunt decided to come home with something from her hotel job, most of the time she wouldn't the woman was an asshole but I didn't complain since she let us sleep there. All that being said to see the Trump Admin. roll back on programs like meals on wheels and free lunch, or healthy public school eating initiatives sucks. Because I personally had to suffer for about 3 years till my mom got on her feet. I'm in college now, first generation American second person in my family to make it (the first was my older sister) my family is way better off now. But without things like free lunch in public schools that would've made my suffering even harder. To see Mick Mulvanwy grandstand about meals on wheels, and budgets cuts specifically to disadvantaged families is disheartening. It's par for the course for this administration though. I don't expect anything less.
