It is the opposite for me. I started on a large realm (Blackrock). I loved and hated world PvP in a mostly Horde, high population realm. Getting ganked sucked and was infuriating at times, but doing my own ganking made up for it. The best part was that the options for guilds felt limitless. It took me doing a little guild hopping to find my new home. The Aussies in the guild took me in as a noob tank, trained and sculpted me, never getting angry when I screwed up. I work 2nd shift in the US so our playing times aligned pretty well. Next thing you know, I was doing what turns out to be what I love most in WoW, raiding with a group of friends. We weren't a top guild or anything, but we definitely weren't bad either. Before Cata rolled around, a lot of my Aussie buddies had started having babies or leaving the game for other reasons. There were plenty of other guilds to choose from, but free xfers opened up with a couple of options to choose from. Without much consideration or research, I took it. I always regretted that. I made a couple of new friends here and there on Nazjatar, but I never found another guild that felt like home. Eventually I quit for a while too because there was just no good options for guilds that raid at good times for me. A couple of my friends xferred to Elune in MoP and talked me into coming back using a scroll of ress right before the release of SoO. I saw it as a a free out for my toons and got them all xferred to Elune. I thought I found a guild to call home on Elune. They all wanted to raid, but most of them weren't sure how to play their classes well or knew much about the game, especially raiding in general. I figured since I was helped when I was a noob, I could help all of these guys too. It has been since the start of WoD and there is still no raid team. Not even a single raider in the guild other than myself. The selection guilds for raiding on Elune is even worse. On top of that, it isn't even a PvP realm... I want to xfer so badly to a much more populated realm PvP, but I can't justify spending $100 on my 4 level 100s. I would like to add something to make this a little less whiney. Thanks to Blizzard so much for their Premade group system they added in WoD. It is irritating sifting through bad groups until I find a good PuG each week, but without it I wouldn't be raiding at all. It has helped me get my first AotC with Highmaul and I am 8/10H BRF so I am thankful for that. There is even a few raid leaders that make groups each week who have btagged me for my performance in their groups. Hopefully I can find a group to run with consistantly each week or maybe something will change and I can move to another realm.
