I have spent a ridiculous amount of my time over the past year and a half trying to refute COVID misinformation. Sisyphus knows the feeling. I believe it is very harmful to society to have people actively going out trying to spread it.

But also, maybe we can just have a cooling off period where we try to keep comments tactful for the time being? A man has just died.

Just to be clear, I am not saying your comment here was "untactful." Actually, the two comments you've left on this thread are quite fair. And I'm glad that some people have managed to highlight his irresponsible behavior in a factual tone without sounding disrespectful.

But...some other peoples' comments here are definitely out of line. Sigh. I guess it's subjective and there's no real clear benchmark for what's appropriate, but gloating or flippant remarks just sound nasty to me.
