That moment when Gawker Editor realises that sarcastically quipping your way out of a situation doesn't work IRL during Hulk Hogan sex tape trial.

If anything I've learned from this case, is how vicious/hypocritical those on the left/feminist can be.

Let me first say before you downvote, I consider myself aligned on the left, and have voted Left every time that I've been able to vote. And while I know woman can be sexist (even against their own gender), no I'm not a man who is gleefully celebrating Gawker Media's demise because it has some strong feminist sub-sites under it.

That said, Gawker Media is despicable, and is one of the worst things to happen to internet journalism. It's fair to say, they are a plague, and something that we should try to eradicate. They gleefully break the rules, they ruin peoples lives, and are the lowest of the low of human filth. This is the same Network that outed a Gay man, and didn't give a damn if it ruined his life (or respect his own privacy and power over his own sexuality). This is the same site that posted a video of a women being raped, and when she the women begged them to take it down, the creator replied "blah blah blah" and, "actions have consequences my dear. It might be embarrassing now, but these things pass". The same editor, that thought this was "news worthy", and continues to think that posting leaked sex tapes, and nude pics is "news worthy".

And finally, the same site that shamed and condemned anyone that posted a single pic of the "fappening", but didn't give two fucks when it was a white male (Hulk Hogan) -- and deemed that also as newsworthy.

But you know what I saw? I saw people worrying about "Kotaku"...because Kotaku has strong writers that push social justice articles, and stand up for women's rights in the gaming industry. The same people who also said "how dare Hogan get a cent, the dude is a racist. And anyone that is happy about him winning, are also racist for supporting this".

Not everyone that works at Gawker is a terrible person. And while I personally think people that CHOOSE to work for Gawker, know that they are working for a terrible company that is completely reprehensible (so I do feel some feminist/activist that write for them, are kind of hypocrites for supporting a company run by heinous sexist). That said, a jobs a job. And people need to work. They need to eat. So I don't really hold that against them.

So of course, I don't want a lot of people to lose their jobs. But I also don't think that we should allow a terrible company like to this exist, just because we worry about the jobs that might be lost. Because at the end of the day, the Company is responsible for losing those jobs. And in the end, what matters most is that we stop a heinous company from all the awful they do.

But I was shocked to see so many on the left and activists, that didn't give a damn about this verdict. They in fact, were angry it happened. They were mad that sites like Jezebel and Kotaku were going to get shut down. More concerned about the feminists/social justice writers, rather then all the people that had their lives ruined by this despicable company.

It sure was an eye opener, how terrible/hypocritical people can be (even people from my own side of the political spectrum).
