The most underrepresented/oppressed group in america isnt black/hispanic/gays/bi/etc.. It's native americans.

I live in Canada and there isn't much racism here (that I'm aware of anyways) except for when it comes to Aboriginal people. I was shocked when I talked to a friend in the US and she said that they aren't concerned much about aboriginal people or their state of affairs. It's a huge topic here. Additionally, my son is half native and at 8 has already had to face comments in school about his heritage.

I have to say though (is the same in the US?) there are some pretty great programs here. My son will never have to pay for any medical/dental/eye, he will get school paid for, and all the therapy he could want thanks to a new program rolled out by the federal government for people and families affected by residential schools. It's a good start, but I agree there is much further to go.
