my 5yr old asked to watch Star Wars last night

Checking in: currently sat watching Episode 1 with my 6 y/o who is dressed as Kylo. To my horror I discovered my sister let him watch episode 1 some time last year. After my experience watching the movies with my dad, I wanted him to have the same feelings and association. I always knew I wanted to do release order and to wait til he was 6 so he would properly understand what was happening. I told absolutely everyone in my family that they were not to show him the films before this time. May sound rediculous but I viewed it as serious as someone posting pictures of your newborn baby on Facebook before you make a birth announcement (terrible analogy, I apologise). After his 6th birthday, when his sister was put to bed, we watched 1 of the original trilogy movies each night over a weekend. He was enthralled! I'm glad I waited as he understood everything and the experience was so much better. He's been obsessed ever since. I've introduced him to the start of my toy collection with an x wing and tie fighter which are well played with and I intend to surprise him with more as he gets older. Although he's now seen episode 1 and understands that Anakin becomes Vader, I am hesitant to show him II or III until he's older. It's just a step too far with intensity. The same goes for TFA. However much he pleads with me to watch it, some scenes are really unsuitable. I could skip them and let him watch the rest but some of those parts are integral to the story.
