My cat ate about 3 inches of string help!

Taking her to the vet is a good idea but I’ll also say to you, be calm…it’ll be okay.

My cat ate a 15inch (!!!) string and he pooped it out 3 days later. At first I was super stressed, basically every Google search and Reddit post told me my cat was going to die. But I was really low on money and would not have been able to afford emergency surgery so I was just praying to God that it’ll be okay. I monitored my cat heavily to make sure he was pooping, peeing, eating and playing regularly (which he was). And I followed a tip from another Reddit post to put Vaseline on his paw pads because he’ll lick it off and it’ll act as a lubricant for him to pass things along. Lo and behold he pooped the string out the next day. You’ll have to get some gloves and check his poop each time to see if you can find the string.

As long as he’s pooping, peeing, playing, not acting outside of normal, I wouldn’t stress too much about it. But of course, taking him to a vet is a very responsible choice.
