Most replacement joystick modules are cheap ones that aren't as high of quality. You can get them for about $2 on eBay and Amazon and they take less than 30 minutes to replace. Unfortunately they'll handle slightly different than stock so u always suggest replacing both, not just 1. That will make both respond the exact same way so that you can get used to them even though they're no longer the same as stock.

Do be aware, though, that your stick may still develop a drift with the new sensor. I have a controller that I've replaced the sensor on twice and it has drift again. Unfortunately there could be more wrong than the stick sensor. Hopefully not.
