My experience with endometritis at 6 weeks postpartum

oddly enough I had a similar response. I didn’t have symptoms until 6 weeks postpartum so when I developed a high fever and racing pulse my OBGYN wouldn’t see me because it was too far past when I gave birth. I had to go to Urgent Care, then the ER and was transferred to a different hospital for a 4 day stay where they diagnosed me with sepsis from endometritis. After I was released they asked me to set up a follow-up with my OBGYN and at the appointment she told me that it wasn’t related to childbirth in any way, the diagnosis was wrong and basically she couldn’t provide me with any answers as to why I had developed an infection to the point of sepsis but said i’d probably never know and to not worry about it. It was incredibly dismissive and I left the appointment with the sense that the OBGYN office was just trying to wash their hands clean of it. I didn’t have a C-section but I did have meconium pre-birth that I suspect wasn’t cleaned out. It is frustrating (and validating) to hear that I wasn’t the only one who had this kind of experience with OB.
