My husband received a ticket for parking in front of out house between 3:30am-5am. There are NO signs on my street saying it isn't allowed. According to the woman at the municipal court, it's a town ordinance.

My argument was never “government program fix all bad”. It was merely to say that sometimes things get out of hand because there are people that truly don’t care. They care more for themselves and taking advantage of others than putting in the work to better their situation. I’m fully in support of fixing the programs and helping people going through hard times. But if we let those who abuse the system continue to do so at the cost of jeopardizing opportunities for those actively seeking help, then there is a point where we must enact legislation to fix this problem. If it has come to the point of needles and feces cluttering the sidewalks of our residences and elementary schools, then we must apply regulations to do something, even if that means a bandaid solution of disallowing overnight parking/parking over 72 hours. We can’t allow these occurrences to put those who follow the system at risk, especially our children and those who really need those homeless resources.
