I’m just going to drop a comment here that is going to get downvoted into oblivion but I don’t really care. There’s a lot of autism in my family, I only know now because some of my children are (probably) autistic and I very well may also be on the spectrum judging by my wider family and the genetic links that come with autism….and of course how I deal with things is weird. But whatever.

“She’s on the spectrum” means multiple different things and most people have no idea what autism “is”. Its frustrating because this can lead to a whole host of problems in later life when someone who is deemed “high functioning” has absolutely no idea how to act in given situations.

For example: You talk about your stuff and you’re met with a blank stare. You’re worries she doesn’t care. Well….It’s because she probably doesn’t care. Does this mean she doesn’t like you? No. It just means she doesn’t realise that the social norm is to decorate a negative response with bullshit or total fabrication.

Like you said - she isn’t stupid but, what she IS, is socially inept….at least…by the sound of it.

She could just be a dick. That’s possible too.
