Its a myth that you cant own a firearm in the UK, you are able to own anything from pistols, shotguns, to rifles and AR,s but they come with heavy regulation and laws, including adequate legal justification in owning a firearm, but why do Americans scorn this idea?

I'm from uk, so pistols are calls are classed as class five, technically you can own them but gun has to be pre 1990 and have some historical importance ie british military were testing them when buying or changing handguns things such as that. When buying class 5 handgun it has to be kepped by class five dealer. When you fire it by law your met to be locked in cage by your self with it. They are only handful of class five dealer in uk so extremely hard to get and experience. This doest apply to Northern Ireland were you buy handguns under license.and store them at your home.

Pistol can however to be owed if make them Pistol riffle by basically riffle stock and making it longer and modifying gun to uk laws.

You can technically own ar15 in uk like one that smith and wesson sell but only in 22 cal rimfire.ive never seen one for sale but you can technically.

Bump stocks, kits to change rounds to small one are all baned, however silencers are pretty advable in comparison to some us states.this is probably due to uk been smaller country and whating to control the noise. But aging you got to declare that own this brand make and model on your gun license.

This obviously applies to regular people if know people high up in government ie home security and people like that they can give your right to own what ever you please.

But basically if buying gun in uk it's number and make are recored by cops before your buy it and once they approve and what use your said your going to uses it for because you got to tell them uselley and put it on your license you own it.

In uk to gangs just buy obbliset calberes of 1800s fire arms or old fare or staring Pistol and ether convert them or just make ammo for them. They some laws around old starting pistol and flair guns I think but non around 1800s or older oblsute cal.

Ther a lot more laws and odd round or cal ect that are not allowed or what it's so complicated.in uk
