Name for a girl

If it's a girl, Winona! Beautiful, underused and honors her Native American heritage, although it doesn't come from her tribe. But it's so beautiful and other wise so fitting. it means "firstborn daughter", and although it's not your partner's firstborn daughter, it would be yours, or at least the first daughter you have in your union with each other. So the meaning can fit. Sounds good with either middle name.

Behind the Name has a list of Cherokee names and from them, Adsila really stands out for me.

I feel less confident suggesting names that honor African-American heritage other than some of the well-known names invented by African-Americans such as Keisha, or names quite commonly used by African-Americans such as Maya, Layla, Aliyah, Imani. Those are all lovely names though.
