Needless Revenge Porn

i have a child due in a month. Barring this whole AM experience doesn't destroy my marriage, which i'm hoping it won't since i never talked to anyone, never met anyone and generally felt disgusted at myself years ago when i did it and "deleted" my account....and this is assuming my wife even comes across that data, which she hasn't yet as she stated "part of trusting someone is not snooping on them" and has decided not to use the search sites or click on lists.

But i completely plan to teach my kid how i can potentially snoop, log and record every little thing they do in whatever home network we have, so they understand the scope of what any service provider, website operator, network admin, ISP, government, or hacker could do to them.

When i was growing up i saw shit like that as a "challenge", nowadays, here i am typing this over the Tor network, on an anonymous screen-name, not associated with an email address... and i know purely from a 'browser fingerprinting scenario' , or deep analysis of the way i type in my posts, if the NSA or Reddit admins wanted to correlate info gathered on me to info they have of when i used this site from home or work, associated with an email..they probably could.

Even people running drug-markets on darknets are getting busted - even secret service agents who know how this shit works, kids paying for a DDOS service over Tor, with bitcoin, which all should be untraceable, are still getting nabbed.

4chan trolls are now taking the IPs from the Ashley Madison hack, and correlating them to the IPs from other leaks and hacks to identify the "homes" and potentially the spouses of the cheaters and reaching out to contact them.

Everything you do leaves a trail. Everything. And every digital train is eternal and can be correlated with other data and used against you. By theives, blackmailers and extorers, by the government if you're breaking the law, by schools and employers, by suspicious boyfriends and girlfriends, by social enemies.

I've been in IT all my life... and outside of major discoveries in hard sciences, and advances in medicine all our technology has brought us is increased obesity, tech driven social isolation, automation that's destroying jobs (that aren't being replaced) and will exponentially destroy jobs in the next 20-30 years at a rate the world has never seen, and turned us into the biggest surveillance state that even the most dystopian scifi authors could've dreamed. And what should have been used as a wonderful education tool - is mostly for "funny pics", pornography, infinitely balkanizing our culture and polarizing our politics. Nevermind the erosion of the existing relationships we have as husband wife lay in bed, each bured in their phone at night rather than paying attention to each other, "entertainment" now becoming fat kids sitting around watching other fat kids push buttons and play video games from the otherside of the globe while mocking the idea of sports and physical activity that would require real teamwork with other flesh and blood human beings. It's just all shit. Complete shit. We had dreams of flying skateboards and Star Trek utopia. We got obesity and Orwell's 1984.

Give me a house in the mountains with my record collection, my movie collection, and let me grow my own food to an extent and live on mostly cash and shopping at physical stores.

The internet is poison to our society.
