New Theater. Help me decide please

I am going to have to respectfully disagree with /u/agray20938 on the speaker choice. As a proud Klipsch owner, the Klipsch Reference series is one of the best values on the market. If you love the highs of a Klispch speakers, there aren't many that can give you that kind of detail, period. It's true that companies such as Martin Logan and Hsu Research offer great sound and great value, but it isn't likely you find something that will match the detail of sound, if you are a Klipsch fan already. That is why many Klipsch fans are fans for life (like me).

To answer your question, and to agree with /u/agray20938, in that it depends on your speaker setup. I will make the following recommendations and you can take it from here:

If you are using 2.0 (no subwoofer), then get the floorstanding RF-62 (more bass for explosions etc).

If you have 2.1, get a really deep bass sub (many good values out there), then you can have either floorstanding or bookshelf (depends on what your budget looks like after purchasing a sub).

If you have 5.1, then you can get away with having bookshelf sized speakers if you want to. But if you have the opportunity to get floorstanding in the front and bookshelf plus a sub? Take it! Your ears will thank you.

Lastly, if I were you and I have $1500, I would get either of these two systems from Amazon. In either 5.1 or 7.1, not only do you get the sub included, but you also get the center channel, the floorstandings and the multi-directional speakers for your rears. And the legendary Klipsch Reference sound.

Good luck!
