[Newbie] Mixing with headphones vs monitors in an untreated room or using the infamous Logitech speakers?

Over-ear monitors: I highly vouch for the KRK KNS 6400. You can get them for less than $100. More importantly, they allow for very accurate mixing. The KNS 8400 are the next model up. But, I’ve read that they have a higher bass frequency response which could end up throwing your ears off. Although, I will say that the KNS 6400 are relatively bass light while mixing but the mix ends up having the perfect amount of bass.

Studio monitors: if you’re on a budget you can’t go wrong with the Presonus Eris e4.5. You can get thwm used as low as $130 (like me) or new for $20p. They come in a pair (not always the case with monitors) and are well made. They even have kevlar transducers which you usually only see on more expensive options. I really don’t think you can beat these on a budget unless you find some crazy deal on Reverb or craigslist for something higher-end.

I own both of these, obviously, and would buy them again if they broke for some reason (zero issues, yet).
