Newegg Now Owned by Chinese Company

I tried to have Newegg build a computer a few years back. They kept screwing up the specs I had issued. For example, they traded the RAM I had selected for some very inferior RAM that wouldn't be supported properly on the mobo. After a few back and forth emails to them they finally figured it out.

Then it came time to pay. I was going to drive to Toronto (I think it was their Richmond Hill facility but don't remember. So I had planned to go there pay them and pick up the system. Calling back and forth to make sure the system was ready was a real pain in the ass. They wouldn't answer the phone and when I did get ahold of someone they didn't know anything about my order and would put me on hold indefinitely.

So finally it came time I was going to go pick up the system and I got to within an hour of their store and noticed an email from them saying it wasn't ready but would be another few days. This was after they said it was ready.

By this time I just cancelled and never looked back. It was about a $16k system and looking back I did myself a huge favor. A couple years later I got almost the same system for $3k, but without the extras and with only one video card.

I get that Newegg had good reputation for selling stuff cheap... but they in my book are terrible at assembly and terrible at customer service. 0/10 will not use them again (although they ARE under new management so who knows).
