[news] A Message from Phil Spencer -- M$ bows to offended SJW´s at GDC over female dancers

I'm not up in arms, I'm posting on an anonymous forum saying 'this shit is stupid and the industry deserves the reputation it has if it supports stuff like this'. Literally, all I'm saying is that people and companies that do things should accept the reputation that comes as a consequence or cease doing those things.

What you are attempting to do is threaten an industry by implying people wont take it seriously, or it will receive a negative reputation if it doesn't conform to your sensibilities.

So you only care when people express an opinion you disagree with?

I made it very clear several times, if your opinions are going to alter content that I may possibly consume, yes I only care in that case. Otherwise I could not give less of a damn.

No. I'm not slinging accusations of sexism, I'm saying it's unprofessional and creates a negative reputation of the industry. Simple as that, you can put more into my comments than what I'm saying but that's on you and you'd be incorrect.

Why would attractive dancers create a negative reputation of the industry if not for implied sexism / misogyny? Hiring entertainers during a party is not unprofessional or negative in any way. Its only when accusations of sexism / misogyny are applied to the act that it becomes in any way negative.

So tell me, without sexism / misogyny, why would the dancer create a negative reputation?

Talking about industry events isn't the same as trying to prevent creative freedom, you're correlating two things that aren't related.

They are absolutely related, as we have seen countless times over the past few years of Gamergate. When someone cries wolf on the internet about sexism / mysoginy, publishers and developers listen because thats the hot fashionable topic nowadays and publishers / developers don't want to be put in the crosshair of some angry lynch mob. So they cave, and alter their identities, their products, everything.

So no, you are wrong. Its absolutely correlated. We wouldn't be here on /r/Kotakuinaction if this wasnt in fact the case.
