'No celebrations': Indigenous communities, leaders share Canada Day frustrations

I say cut the policies, cut the past. Distribute the money in trust to all of the bands and let them handle it as they see fit.

Nobody wants to go back to a time before colonization so people need to stop dwelling on that. It creates racism. Yes, it was bad, but look what came out of it: a free country with some of the best standard of living in the world. If it wasn’t one country that claimed the land it would have been another at some point and it could have been so much worse. The fn just didn’t have the advancement in civilization to compete with anyone who happened upon Canada. They lost their hand back then but have a positive hand now in a country with incredible economic mobility. There is so much grants and funding for FN it’s not even funny.

Hell, the people who dwell on it the most are people that have nothing to do with it.

Get rid of this stark separation of classes so we can all be on the same playing field, only then will racism can stop being a thing.
