Somehow, Joe Rogan and Elon Musk Care About Canada’s Anti-Vaxxer Convoy

If you can say that I don't think you know very much about the field, and detailed scientific/engineering studies/plans that have been underway for decades to make sure humans can and will eventually live in space.

I get that your angry at Elon, so that has biased you in a negative way towards space exploration, but don't let one douche bag change your view on the future of humanity as a whole.

But ya, if you want some interesting sources and discussions about that, let me know.

ALSO, keep in mind:

Humans have already been living in space long term: the International Space Station has been constantly inhabited since November 2000!

That means anyone born Nov 2000 or later, has actually never known a time when humans were not in space! It has begun.

ALSO:

SpaceX is NOT involved in any grifting related to long term dwelling in space.

That's other companies and organizations working on that, NOT SpaceX. SpaceX just wants to produce the cheap heavy lifting means to get us there cheaply, on a daily basis (which has side benefits of giving them a money making lucrative launch vehicle.)

So they'll be making lots of money, through their technology development.

And once that heavy-lift capability is achieved regularly and reliably, then yes: we will be able to lift all the equipment, supplies, shielding we need, and humans will spread across the solar system, surprisingly quickly in fact.

SpaceX is working on that heavy lifting fully reusable capability with their Starship program down in South Texas, and it's advancing rather surprisingly quickly.

As for space mining:

If you read the detailed serious proposals, it will be done by a COMBO of robotics and humans.

Robots can NOT do it alone, and neither can humans. It's going to be a symbiosis.

As for fully capable self driving car automation--that's BS for now!

But don't conflate that with the space program.

It has nothing to do with the space program. Or rather maybe it does: in that it shows you clearly why robots can NOT do it alone. It has to be a symbiosis between humans and machines for now.
