no, er, that's my name

Actually no! Being a Pharmacy Technician requires a few years of community college. At least where I live. The position you're referring to is Pharmacy Assistant.

Pharmacy Assistants only get around 13/hr but obviously increases once you get more experience. Depending on the region, Pharmacy Assistants are restricted to only cashier duties.

To be quite honest, (at least, where I work) the Pharmacists don't do much. Techs fill the prescription, and pharmacists look at it and say "Yeah, that's good." and offer medical advice to patients who ask.

I do not live in the states, and thus my information is more of a view I personally experience.

Pharmacy Techs / Assistants run the entire pharmacy. We do the paperwork, restock medications, do data entry (patient filing), contacting hospitals / doctors to get prescriptions refilled, and all that fun stuff. PA's deal with customers, but if the customer is extremely aggressive, or if the issue is extremely complex, the """""fun""""" is passed onto us.

If you have any questions, or any misinformation, feel free to send some my way to be corrected!

Cheers!
