No trades for the Celtics

Ingram or Simmons doesn't make us a contender either. It just adds a talented rookie to a team full of young talented players. We need at least 1 top 15 player to even contend. People are way too hung up on a group that they admit can't win a championship. Our sum is greater than our parts which is great, this is a team game. But saying anyone on this team is untouchable considering our lack of true talent is just stupid. I love Smart, KO and Crowder as much as the next guy but would move any one of them for a Boogie, Love or Griffin; perennial All Stars. If you wouldn't then you're convincing yourself we can be the next Warriors; bless your heart and I hope your right. But even they got lucky and still made big moves before they started winning (Bogut, Iguodala).

Not saying Ainge was wrong to stay put, only time will tell that. But this is getting exasperating. He's putting a lot of faith and our time and money into the lottery and his ability to move pieces and attract free agents. We have a full roster of specialists and role players playing out of their shoes right now. All of our rookies are sitting in the D League and we'll likely add 2 or 3 more next year assuming Ainge can move the other picks. He could have made some moves and chose not to. But that puts even more pressure on him to pull something off this summer when every other team is going to have $ to attract big FAs. Yes, we have more combined assets than the rest but that is not a guarantee that anything will happen. We couldn't move 6 picks to get Justise Winslow (Jordan is an idiot).

There are so many questions and moving parts with the C's right now. So many what ifs and no guarantees. We don't play our rookies, we don't trade them or move any of our picks. Our rag tag bunch of over achievers, who could go on a losing streak just as easily as a winning streak, have to keep the league on notice. That's a lot of pressure and a big risk to take considering whats on the line this summer. You have to take a chance and pull the trigger at some point and he's putting all his chips in for free agency. What if we can't sign a major free agent? Its possible. Then what? Another year of hopeful over achieving. Every passed opportunity by Ainge makes "fireworks" more necessary. Ainge owes us that. If he can't bring in at least 2 marquee names this summer and make us the contender he keeps talking about, he's going to be public enemy #1 and needs to go.
