Nobel Prize winner Tim Hunt ‘hung out to dry’ after women scientist comments

Do I look like I know what the hell your life story is pal. Listen closely this time. This conversation is the worst I've had in ages, and I've had to dumb it down significantly. I'm done talking to you because I don't you can understand this so I'll explain it for one last time, then you can believe whatever the hell you want to. You cannot keep generalizing your life to other people's lives. Do you understand that? You've had a rough run, who hasn't. We're talking in general terms. Most women and most men. Nobody has time to interview every single man and woman on earth.

Sometimes I think we agree that the difference between men and women are exaggerated are the same so I don't even know what we even disagreed on in the first place. But then you go on to say things like there is a fundamental difference in the psych. Is there really a fundamental difference that makes women want to stay home more than men? I hardly think so. This just seems like a recurrence from the past when men in charge of education would try to prevent women from entering education by saying that their heads would become gigantic and their bodies would become puny. These differences are being justified by inequality. There is no reason to say that there is a fundamental difference in men and women that makes women more family oriented. None whatsoever.

Obviously you can't do anything about biology. But you know what we can do. Implement company family and day care programs, or state funded child day care, that would definitely help a lot. That would allow women to focus on careers and obtaining degrees. Balance workloads at home, that would help.

Your logic also makes no sense. You say that women need to stand up for themselves more, while at the same time men don't need to stop dominating. If women do stand up for themselves more and demand that men take care of the household and children then that will result in less men dominating at home.

"The choices I've made have left me isolated from and in many ways an enemy to my family and left me mocked by my own culture. Don't try to say that my choices are some minor bs or hobbies, my passions and my family's dogma tore my life apart."

How in the hell am I supposed to know your life story? You don't post shit on the internet and then get angry when people respond using points you brought up. You didn't provide enough information. You made it personal by bringing in your background. Not me. You. You're right you can't stop scientists from being sexist. I don't think he should have gotten fired. I think the decision was made too rashly, but don't deny that what he said doesn't in some way however small it may be play into the larger narrative speaks to women's role in the household.

Everyone has it tough. I've brought facts and reason, if you don't find this to be a coherent conversation about sexism and wages, which I'm starting to agree with, then maybe it's on your end.
