Why The Numbers Behind Mitch McConnell’s Re-Election Don’t Add Up

Alison Greene's "research" ignores several things, including 1) the presence of ancestral Dems in Kentucky and other Southern states, 2) That her "there are more votes than registered voters" are taken from estimated registered voter totals, as opposed to actual numbers, meaning they could be straight up wrong, 3) Part of her evidence hinges upon "counties that never voted Republican before suddenly doing so," but that's not actually evidence. We KNOW that since 2016, Democrats have increasingly gained footholds in the suburbs, while Republicans have secured rural areas. Trump flipped 209 counties from Obama over 2012-->2016, just because a county voted for Democrats in the past means little, 4) Kentucky is a state that hasn't voted for a Dem Senator since 1992, and there have not been significant demographic changes to suggest that suddenly a change would happen. Black people comprise .4% more of the population in 2010 than in 2000.

McConnell is one of the worst people in the country, and I sure wish he had lost. Please don't fall for this misinformation.
