Do O-linemen or sumo wrestlers count as fat? No definitive answers from the comments I received before having post removed and asked to post here. Trying to settle an argument with a bud.

Here was some of the feedback...(apologies in advance if I'm doing this wrong...1st post on reddit)

[–]pieces-of-rainbow 1 point 9 hours ago They are fat, thus disgusting. The fact it's intentional just makes it fucking worse. They know what obesity does and they destroy their bodies. They have no self-respect, and they are as bad as all the other thundercorpses out there. permalinksavereportgive goldreply [–]Notorious_GIT 1 point 8 hours ago* Hossein Rezazadeh is over 300 pounds at 6'1". Of course, he's also a two time olympic powerlifting champion and the held (holds?) the world record for clean and jerk, who put 580 pounds over his head, which record he prepared for setting by consuming an entire leg of lamb the night before. Healthy? Might not be. But like sacrifices made in time dedicated to a job, the sacrifice of thinness he made to be one of the greatest athletes who ever lived can hardly be called gluttony. Can any of us who've been taking pre-workout for a decade say we're any better? Pretty sure this won't be a popular opinion. But then, if I wanted to be popular, I'd stop being an unrepentant asshole to every fat fuck I meet, and that ain't happening any time soon. I'd like to think that anyone who called him fat would get laughed at, lifted up over his head and get military pressed 30 or 40 times. permalinksavereportgive goldreply [–]eschewsbeetus 2 points 9 hours ago I would judge by bf% at that point. But probably in most cases. permalinksavereportgive goldreply [–]shitlordcaligula 1 point 9 hours ago in my opinion, just because their fat serves a purpose for providing bulk on an otherwise athletic body, that doesn't get them off the hook. they're still hamplanets. and it sounds like you're getting awfully close to making a HAES argument... Are NFL linemen healthy? Fuck no. They might be strong, and they may be in somewhat decent cardiovascular strength, but that bulk comes with major physical problems later. permalinksavereportgive goldreply [–]rogarth[S] 1 point 8 hours ago Not HAES....Just curious. I just did a search on Google: First link was (Why don’t sumo wrestlers die of heart disease?) http://thedoctorweighsin.com/why-don%E2%80%99t-sumo-wrestlers-die-of-heart-disease/ Doc still classified them as morbidly obese. The argument was specifically about O-Linemen but I threw the sumo in there as another example permalinksaveparenteditdisable inbox repliesdeletereply [–]Gandolfadolf 2 points 8 hours ago I have a friend from high school who played o line. He was a monster. He played a year of college and then quit. Literally dropped from 230 to ripped 180 in a year. He was always super athletic but had to get big for that position. He wasn't ever lazy or anything. I never though of him as a hamplanet. He proved me right by losing the weight so easily. permalinksavereportgive goldreply [–]Chicup 1 point 9 hours ago For many on tumblr the gain is intentional too. permalinksavereportgive goldreply [–][deleted] 9 hours ago* [deleted] [–]The_Flying_Pequod -1 points 8 hours ago BMI over 25... Butterbeast! Don't defend those fat fucks! They will be fat long after the leave the game. There are no excuses... Fat is fat! permalinksavereportgive goldreply [–]DuncanMac63 0 points 8 hours ago If your bulk serves you in a professional athletic purpose, and you live a life that most of us dream of (NFL etc.) than I personally am willing to make an exception. But sadly, they do tend to turn into full blown hams once retired, at which time the exemption no longer applies. permalinksavereportgive goldreply
