Officials plan to euthanize pit bull mixes that attacked woman walking dog in Rockville

It takes fairly consistent and brutal abuse (or total neglect) to turn docile breeds into weapons. It takes consistent conditioning to stop a Pitt from becoming one. And even then, the Pitt might snap and kill someone for no reason.

Violence is just bred into them. Just like my Shepherd instinctively rounds up chairs and other dogs and little kids with circling and gentle nudges, Pitt bulls just instinctively maul things.

If you feel the need to have a loaded firearm around your dog, it’s time to get a new dog (or just not own dogs in general, if you think that’s appropriate for all breeds).

I mean shit, when’s the last time you heard of a Corki snapping and viciously attacking its owner?
