Oldest Siblings of Reddit, What do you hate about being the oldest sibling?

Younger siblings whining until they get their way.

I remember one summer, we visited my aunt and uncle in the U.S. I must've been 11 or 12 and my sister is four years younger than me.

I was big into extreme sports and the X Games was on TV, but so was the Powerpuff Girls. My parents decided we would alternate, watching one hour of Powerpuff Girls, then X Games, and repeat.

Except after that first hour, the Cartoon Network said this was a Powerpuff Girls marathon and my sister cried her eyes out when I changed the channel.

My parents, who had been so engrossed in conversation with my aunt and uncle, must've thought we'd been watching X Games the whole time and that I was refusing to give my sister her turn. They told me to change it back and that my hour was up. It didn't matter that I said we'd already watched an hour of her show, they weren't listening.

I was steaming mad during that next hour. By that point, whatever contest I wanted to watch was over. After that, my parents seemed to have regained their ability to listen and apologized when I explained I had to sit through two hours of Powerpuff, but it was too late. X Games was over.

Almost 20 years later and I'm still salty about it.
