On a personal level, how would you describe the neighborhood you live in?

I'll do each of the neoghborhoods I've lived in...this is 2009-now

wrigleyville - young, vibrant place. no shortage of things to do on any given night. often, beers on special run abput what they would in the burbs. lots of people coming in from other places on the weekends. unfortunately, when it's not your home, you may not give a shit, so the weekends saw litter, fights, and gallons of pee in my alley. I was 22 when I lived there though, so it was perfect.

South Shore - insanely beautiful. could throw a baseball from my window to the lake. my block was pretty regular. by that I mean same people out, doing the same things. nights ( especially in the summer) could get a bit intense. always stay "up", be aware. the smell of burning blunts hung the air. I was 1 of 2 whites on the block, but I had only three minor dust ups. once folks knew I wasn't just a visitor, and wasn't in a gang, I made frinds quickly. people there may not always have much, but they are almost always willing to share when they do.

Pilsen - strong families. neighbors were all very friendly. some second looks when I went into a few places. the area is changing, and some probably looked at me as an intruder, but they were far from the majority (mostly older folks). lots of trash on the streets and sidewalks =( hear music? party time! house parties/barbeques are great, and you will be welcomed and well fed. tons of art in the area too!

Logan Square - just moved here. the populace reminds me of Pilsen, but it's a bit heavier on 20 something whites. the Fullerton stretch near me is a bit barren, so I usually bike to do shopping/eating. looking forward to learning more in the next year or so
