i was one of the dallas fans that did not agree with kyky being targeted for the blame for their poor performance but now i sincerely believe there needs to be a coaching change.

"unless he's being forced to run these terrible line ups"

I don't understand where these weird hypothetical scenarios come from. IMO here's the division of labor for professional contests of skill, period:

Management pays the bills and manages their solvency as a business through merchandise, branding, business development. You know they're doing their job when the checks don't bounce. It's likely they're doing their job because the bts vids are on point and there's a fucking Jack in the Box logo on the shirts.

Players compete during regulation play according to the rules of their game. They do this better based on how they're coached and how well they've trained all the rest of the time, but their real job is a brutish, thin slice of highly loaded activity. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the individual players on Fuel are probably decent, because they're some of the most famous names to ever play Overwatch.

EVERYTHING ELSE IS COACHING

This is the frustrating thing with the Kyky situation -- the "it's out of my hands" type attitude he's exhibited is unbecoming for the position of head coach even if it IS somehow 100% true.

That's like a dog owner complaining that their dog is out of their control when it runs off biting and shitting. Team culture, the system the players are developed in, their understanding of their conduct and attitude, the strategies they run, it's all in the purview of coaching. Even the balance of power with their own management is something coaches have a hand in.

When a team loses, the coach takes responsibility. He or she tanks that criticism for the collective good of the players -- not to be the fun dad, but selfishly to maintain their function as human tools and control the situation. Having a bunch of shortsighted, misinformed assholes (like us) call for you to be fired is actually part of the job, and it's the one part he could personally be nailing instead of this backhanded side eyes shit about who does or doesn't have a mindset for success.

I'm gonna feel really bad when it comes out that Jake and Muma have his family locked in a storage unit and send him toes when he doesn't run Taimou on Winston
