In order to eat meat, an animal lover must be comfortable with the sexual violation of cows, pigs, sheep, goats and other beings via artificial insemination.

Let's apply this reasoning to other animals. Sexual violation implies a lack of consent. Can animals give consent? Is going into heat consent? Is arousal consent? Arguably not. So in order to have pets, an animal lover must be comfortable with the sexual violation of dogs, cats, rabbits, mice and others via rape.

Does that sound reasonable to you? That anyone who adopts a pet is financially supporting rape? If not, why is it different for dogs, but not cows?

In order to have a pet, an animal lover must be comfortable with the separation of a dog and her litter. Are you saying it's better for dogs to not exist at all then to be kept as companions?

If not, why is it different when taking a dogs children away, but not a cows?

In order to eat eggs, an animal lover must be comfortable with the crushing and suffocation of billions of male chicks per year

In order to have a pet, an animal lover must be comfortable with the putting down of thousand, if not millions, of healthy dogs, cats, puppies and kittens every year because there is simply no reasonable way to provide them all with homes.

By your own standards, adopting a pet is not an act of love.
