Opinions on Agency email?

Update: Tried to quit and received this instead. Feels like a defense double down + there was no acknowledgment of my notice.

I want to thank you for your honestly and feedback as it is always accepted!! My email was intended to sound insensitive but it was meant to sound stern. In the past two weeks alone, we had 28 call outs. This means 28 families went without care those days. That is absolutely unacceptable. That is not counting the call outs that were “excusable”. Caregivers like have never given me a hard time. But, a lot of our team does not take this job seriously, which is why I had to send that email. Also, we are not in the best standing with Bright Horizons. These call outs were with BH clients and if we get suspended with them as an agency, 85% of our caregivers will be without work but at least 2 weeks. That is not good for any of us. Saying that, sometimes I have to be stern and put my foot down or we will lose business.

I am very empathetic as I was a sitter for 2 years with company while in school and taking the metro. I know the pros and cons that goes into this job. Those call out requirements that I am asking for are things that my supervisor asked of us. Other Jovie offices actually ask the same thing of their caregivers. I was being lenient at first. Caregivers have to understand that when they call out, these parents cannot go to work and they get very upset with us when this happens. If these call outs can be avoided, they should be. The proof does not have to be provided, it will just be consequences as people constantly lie to us about not being able to work. Many jobs request evidence and many of them do not give their employees as much wiggle room as I do.

I am open to discussing this more over the phone. I hope you can understand where I am coming from.
