Out of context - ChristinaP - Not a fan of Greta

Not sure where you're getting this narrative, or if it's fully invented, but as someone who works in clean technology development, I can tell you that the vast majority of clean energy are not "in Africa" lmao. France is covering all of their parking lots in solar panels, the UK is the world leader in offshore wind energy, and those projects are off the shore of the UK, not Africa, Canada and the US have massive domestic solar energy projects, Canada has a shit ton of green hydrogen projects (Alberta is quickly becoming a world-leader in the space) and just announced billions for research into nuclear development, and the Inflation Reduction Act will see billions of dollars deployed for clean energy, EVs, CCUS, etc. in the US.

That theory doesn't even make sense. It's prohibitively costly to produce energy on a different continent and then ship it. We're seeing that with oil and gas right now. I have a feeling you saw one thing about one company putting solar panels in Africa and you ran with it as if it was a common destination for the deployment of this sort of technology. It's not.

You want to follow the money? Africa is a tiny market. Any savvy businessperson will be targeting large markets, China, India, the US, and the EU, and building projects there because it lowers their cost ultimately. Plus, those countries have huge subsidies for the development and deployment of clean technologies, so the governments are literally funding you to build projects that will make you profits. That's a no-brainer.
