Out of curiosity, what is your household like?

IDK if it's relevent but we've been living together for just over 2 years now. I'm a woman, he's a man.

He makes more money than me, by about 30%. Enough to notice, not enough to really feel like things are unbalanced.

Each of us are out of the house a few nights a week. When one of us isn't going to be home, the other one usually works late and exercises. And eats whatever we want for dinner without having to consider anyone else's tastes! When I have the house to myself, I watch my TV shows that he doesn't like, and read or take a bath in the quiet house. He probably does the same but also plays video games. When I have the house to myself I always get the urge to clean but I'm trying to break that habit, because I really feel that he doesn't know how much work I do cleaning our house, if he's not around to see it happening.

Chores - we don't really have "set" chores but I almost always do the grocery shopping and cooking. When we moved in together, I just started doing it because I really wanted to control it. (I like watching sales, clipping coupons, and cooking from scratch - he does not.) We do our own laundry, but I usually do the "house laundry" like towels and sheets. Dishes are probably 60/40, with him doing a bit more than me. We both try to keep the place clean but different things bother us. It's funny, we'll walk into a room and have wildly different ideas about whether that room is clean, because he only looks at what junk is laying around cluttered/unorganized, and I tend to gloss over the clutter focus on what's dirty/dusty/smelly/grimy. Overall I definitely clean more than him and I don't think he knows it because he doesn't even notice when something is dirty in the first place.

I do almost all of the pet care, but that's fair because I had the pets before him.
