- $291k - first full year of ER doctor pay, working on loans and started a 401/whole life insurance
- $307k - fuck me, even at this tax bracket apparently I can’t afford to live hood-rich. slowed down loan payments to take care of credit card debt.
- $361k - spending more reasonably and working some overtime to help kill loans. some leftover credit card debt.
- $409k - more overtime, working hard on loans. paying on the expensive house we bought two years ago.
- $424k - still overtime, wife is tiring of it. first kid due in jan 2016. gonna cut back, and debt payoff in sight in about 2 years.
- kid born (yay!) - cutting back a lot, thus moving projected debt-free date from early 2018 to late 2019. still in the expensive house, which tho it hurts a bit is nice for a kid.

while it’s common knowledge on here, i’m always impressed how insidious debt and spending can be, even with a high income.
