Parents who home-schooled your kids - why?

Not a parent or even in a relationship, but the main reason why I want to homeschool any future children is mostly due to covid. Parents reported that no one ever got sick after keeping their kids from school, so schools are super spreaders for disease. Another thing I learned from covid is that parents use schools and churches as free babysitting. A lot of parents complained about schools and churches shutting down and being forced to spend time with their own children.

School shootings are a thing, so I worry about their safety and security. On a related note, I was bullied growing up and never really had friends, so I don't expect any future child of mine to either.

I HATED school. I never learned anything, and it was so authoritarian and hyper competitive for no reason.

With the way the political climate is going and worsening teacher shortages, I worry about the quality of education they would receive.
